About Shanghai Jiao Tong University

The Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is a comprehensive, research-oriented and deeply internationalized university. About the School of Humanities

Dating back to 1908, the School of Humanities (SoH) has been home to many masters in Chinese humanities, including Gu Hongming, Cai Yuanpei, Zhang Yuanji, Fu Lei, Li Shutong, Huang Yanpei, etc. At the start of the 21st century the school launched programs in Chinese language and culture, which have continued to gain in popularity and are highly regarded amongst students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Further to its success in Chinese language education, English-taught courses were prepared to enable international students to deepen their understanding of and in China without requiring Chinese language as a prerequisite. The SoH is dedicated to the education of liberal arts and humanities by offering informative courses and meaningful public lectures for students from around the world.
