Credits

Students should complete at least 28 credits to meet the prerequisites of graduation, including 18 credits for compulsory courses and 10 credits for elective courses. Among the 10 credits for elective courses, 6 must be from the 5 “Program Frontier Courses” list and 2 must be from the “Program Elective Courses”.

Requirements

All the courses required by the program are recommended to be completed within the first academic year. Students may conduct the writing-up of dissertations and/or field work in their second year. 

Mid-term examination takes place within the first week of the third semester. After passing the mid-term examination, students should focus on the writing-up of their dissertations, including research proposal, mid-term examination, rehearsal for oral defense and final oral defense.

Research proposal for master dissertation should be finished within the 7th week of the third semester, and submitted to the Graduate School at the same time.

Mid-term examination for dissertation should be completed before the end of the third semester, and submitted to the Graduate School at the same time.

Rehearsal for oral defense takes place in the 7th week of the fourth semester.

Final oral defense takes place in the 14th week of the fourth semester.

Degree

Students must complete their credits and assignments as required by the program plan within the required period of time, passing all the courses. Their dissertations should follow the regulation of academic conventions regulated by the School of Humanities. Once the student, with good academic integrity, has passed all the required courses, oral defense, and dissertation examination, s/he could be awarded the master degree.
